cartoon of Joy, murdered on a beach with a spade!

Well 2009 has been a year of milestones for me – another birthday, 28 years since I invented the concept of interactive Murder Mysteries and 25 years since I took the idea to America. We finished performing our 100th plot on New Year’s Day. We moved hotel chains after 20 years with the old chain and now we are racing towards another, slightly macabre milestone.

A recent advert for Agatha Christie week heralded the fact that the Queen of Crime had written 1,000 murders – well I can certainly beat that - I will be committing my 10,000th murder at the end of October!

Our new plot started at the beginning of September and is proving very popular and it was all sparked by a chance comment from one of my guests. I was born and bred in Liverpool and asked me, “how is it you haven’t written a plot about the Beatles?” I realised that surprisingly he was correct. Being hugely proud of my Scouse roots and of the fab four, I thought I had to put this right and so created “The Yellow Submarine Club”, which is my 103rd plot that we’re performing at the moment. It’s great fun and I do hope that you’ll be able to join us to celebrate our unusual but fun anniversary – 10,000 down and many many more to go!

Guests often ask me if I will be doing any more foreign trips and yes absolutely. The last time we did some specials in Italy and on the Nile – it was to celebrate our 25th anniversary – so I’ve decided that we will definitely be doing some more in 2011 to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Crikey – 30 years in the murder business – where has the time gone?

I do hope you will be able to join us on one of my Original Murder Weekends. You’ll give your brain a complete work-out, have great fun and lots of laughs. But don’t just take my word for it, why not take a look at the “What the guests say” page, to see what other guests have said about their experience. They loved their weekend and we’re sure you will too.

So take a stab at it - we’re dying to see you!
